Sturgill is originally from Kentucky. He is a Navy veteran that was in his mid-30's working for the railroad in Salt Lake City. His wife convinced him to quit his job and go "all in" on his music dream. He has done some great stuff since. It had been 10+ years since I had listened to anything country, because I thought it was all trash, but I happened upon this song and loved it. Listened to a bunch of his other music and wasn't disappointed.
