Long John Baldry - "Don't Try To Lay No Boogie-Woogie On The King of Rock & Roll"

No one has ever reacted to this song. Long John Baldry was credited with taking the "Blues" to London. Rod Stewart and Elton John both started out playing with him. Then Elton and Rod each produced one side of this album. The Beatles were known to go to his shows. Love the Piano and horns in this one. The first couple minutes he talks about being arrested in London on Waldorf Street (which actually happened to him). Then he starts jamming. There is a documentary that shows Rod and Elton playing with him and also shows the Beatles at his shows.

Elton John played piano with Baldry when his first band Bluesology was hired to backup Baldry in the mid-'60s. Although the excellent piano playing on this song is by Ian Armitt.
