This might be one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever written. A song about love and longing, your heart and mind being at odds about the feelings that you have for someone. After a decade of listening to this song, I still tear up every single time I hear it.
The duo of the Civil Wars- Joy Williams and John Paul White were a Nashville-based Folk duo who released two absolutely incredible albums. Unfortunately the duo had differences in direction for the group, and as a whole just didn’t get along, so they split in 2012, prior to their sophomore album being released. I can’t help but wonder how many incredible songs the world is missing out on as a result of their split.

This definitely needs to get more love! Such a beautiful yet heartbreaking song… I’m still not ok since this group’s split. Just 2 albums and they are my favorite band of all time.
