You seem to love songs that get you emotionally involved. Whew boy, these feels. David's brother was dying of brain cancer, and he wrote this song for him. His brother passed just before they recorded the song, so on recording day David was a mess. To hear the story as he tells it, he took a shot of tequila and a deep breath, and did the whole song in a single take.
The raw emotion in his voice... it makes me sob every time.
